Not wanting to spend another night in/ feel sorry for myself/ feel old I suggested to my house mate Amy and her friend Georgie we go get a beer after work. It ended up being a lovely night. We headed off to the Wheatsheaf (is that how you spell it?) even though I was worried about it being a lesbian pub and we were going without any boys.
Sat in the courtyard and had some beer and smokes with the girls and listened to the first band (2 girls) loved the electric banjo though. Then another band got up with electric banjo again and just a drummer with vocalist swapping between guitars, I enjoyed her music. Half way through a familiar face in Alen Ribar showed up beside me saying he used to play in a band with the drummer which is funny because before he had started on stage he was sitting peculiarly close to Amy and as he had dreads I thought he was a bum and almost warned Amy to watch out. Note to self, don't be such a horrible person. Left after midnight not feeling too bad, went home to my croc pot meal that had been cooking away had cup of tea and went to bed.
Up at 7 today, cooking, washing, playing wardrobe stylist to Amy then the pooch and I headed off for a walk into Regatta's where he had schmackos and I had rye toast. Then back home, a bit more domestic stuff then off to my good friend Rachael's baby shower, who is still shocked she's pregnant with 4 weeks to go. Had a great time and heard a very funny story of her partner Terry sleeping through his call time to have a scene with Clive Owen and Scott Hicks on the movie they're making in Adelaide. I bought great stuff and was the only girl to think of their little pooch , Moses, and get him a gift too, great cupcakes and giggles and interesting family dynamics to observe and keep me amused.
