As I am really starting to feel like I want a break from life and wondering what type of holiday options are dog friendly I did one of my favourite things, researched on the www.I came across a home on Kangaroo Island called, Allure Retreat. Looks so beautiful, private access to beach, heated private outdoor shower, decking surrounding house, bath with an amazing view ahhh. . . and pooches are very welcome, inside and out! I had a little trouble with dates and am now looking forward to 7 nights over Easter. Just can't wait..
Colin Pearce is now my 'friend' on facebook..
I had the yuckiest experience today, my first road kill and it couldn't have been more tragic.I was travelling an 80km stretch of road with my client in the McLaren Vale today when on the road I noticed a mummy ducky hurriedly waddling across the road closely followed by 2 little ducklings following their mum in blind faith and trust. In a split second so many thoughts crossed my mind, ' oh no I think I'm going to run over these little fellas', 'I'm only supposed to stop for a horse', 'I can't cause an accident over some ducklings', 'I'll try to swerve them, maybe they'll just pass under the car', 'What are they doing in the middle of the country?', 'go away I don't want to be in this position!'.I swerved and horridly looked in the rear view mirror hoping to see them stumbling towards the other end of the road but those fluffy piles weren't moving I was deeply sad to see. I pulled over to the side of the road and my client said, 'there's nothing you could have done'.No one wins, poor ducky, ducklings and me. I apologised to God and moved on.There is something so not cool about killing one of the most defenceless animals around. I hate being human sometimes.
